A lot of digital multi meter for the money. Typical Brymen quality. Fast. Very good probes with silicone leads.
Works on 3 AAA batteries. Has good backlight. Continuity beeper is loud enough. It beeps on diode check as well.
Came with 13th firmware version that is very good.
I still prefer my BM869s but this one is smaller and lighter and easier to work with.
BM869 has USB interface (optional) and dual screen and is more accurate in most of the ranges. But the difference is not that big.
BM869s is more like benchtop DMM and this BM789 is more like DMM you expect when you buy good meter.
And yes BM789 is 60K count and the BM869s is 50k fast + 500K count for two ranges btu speed drops a little too.
So if you are working with certain values you might be even better off with the BM789.
